Several of the 60 lots on offer sold well above their guide prices, including a freehold retail and residential investment in Covent Garden, London, which sold for £1.21m off a guide price of £630,000.

Auctioneer Richard Auterac commented: "This is a vivid illustration of the massive demand for well-located London properties which offer some opportunity for future asset management".

The success compared to last year, which has seen Acuitus raise close to £240m throughout 2014, is a sign of Acuitus' strong position in the auction market.

Richard Auterac added: "This has been an excellent year for Acuitus and our clients. I believe our results are a reflection of both our proactive and supportive approach to buyers and also the new energy in the sale room".

The first auction of 2015 will take place on February 12th at the Radison Blu Portman Hotel, London W1.
