These results brought the total for 2014 to £421 million, a 25% increase on the £336 million they achieved in 2013.

Auctioneer Gary Murphy commented: "2014 has been an extraordinary year for us. December's sale was particularly active".

The highest price achieved on the day, and for the year, was £6.96 million for Lot 33, a freehold mixed-use investment in South Kensington, London. There was strong bidding for this property, which had a guide price of £5 million, after it received international interest during an earlier private treaty campaign.

Jourdan Prowting, Partner at Allsop, said: "We needed to harness interest in a transparent way. The auction gave bidders confidence that they were competing on a level playing field. Ultimately we sold to an adjoining owner way above previous expectations".

Their first sale of 2015 will take place on Thursday 12th February at the Cumberland Hotel, Great Cumberland Place, London W1.
