Savills first auction of 2017 saw
a welcome return of confidence, with 80.5% of the 215 lots on offer being sold
for a total of £64.16 million. The largest sale of the day was Cintra House, a vacant
four storey building in Crystal Palace, London SE19, which sold for £4.3
million.
Vacant houses in
London continue to be a popular choice for investors, but there is increasing
interest in more stable, long-term investments such Regulated and Life
Tenancies and ground rent investments.
Other notable sales included The
Karslake Building, a former water works building in Hampton, Middlesex, wjhich
raised £1.9 million and John Garnett House, a Grade II listed former vicarage
in Whitechapel, London E1, which sold for £2.02 million.
